'owdy,

so wired.com may not be the most reputable news service in the world, but i read this this article -> http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,50658,00.html

..."chip, chip, chip" ... what's that noise ? oh yeah, its me fair use rights being whittled away some more.

edit: thought i'd just chuck this in as well -> http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,50702,00.html - that's about the hardware copy protection bill ( SSSCA ) that's been in the works for a while - i put it there to remind all u american guys and gals to vote to prevent these laws being mandated seeing as we non-US/Euro folk seem to be following the lead of uncle sam - throw a vote/protest letter in for me please :(.

The Disney/Hollings SSSCA bill is probably way more damaging than the DMCA. But thankfully it is also so stupid that even the more non-technical members of Congress will think it is a dumb idea.

on a side note: Did anybody see all the "anti-sharing" references at the Grammy's this year? They must think highly of themselfs. I know I will make sure somebody hears me when they start tinkering with my rights even if I have no money to influence somebody who cares. Sorry for the rant but they better stop trying to stop sharing and start playing better music so they can live off of fan support, not fan's wallets.

Bit by bit, slowly slowly we will loose. Ppl as a mass is very inertial thing. Corporation have better representation in legislation department and as much money as needed. Soon we or our kids will watch what is prescribed and given. All of that democracy thing and free speech, consumer rights organisations and such in real life don't have that much of the power...
well let's hope for better :)
