¿Someone has tried to use this format to encode the audio of a DivX movie?

With this audio format seems easy to reduce to a half the size of the audio stream, it's not a revolution but 50Mb can make a difference.

I've the mp3PRO encoder plugin from Ahead Nero, and I'm going to give it a try, doubts I have:

There is any DivX Player with support to mp3PRO audio?

if not: Could I somehow use the winamp mp3PRO decoder plugin to decode the audio stream?

Don't know, I'm starting with it, if anyone has any comment, please let me know.

As long as there is no DirectShow decoder filter for mp3PRO available (or at least an ACM codec), there is no chance to listen to the "full" (but rather fake) frequency range while watching the movie, all you'll get is the "mp3 compatible" half range. Of course, you can extract the audio and listen it without video...

I doubt that any media player author will even think about implementing a special workaround mode for such a case; anyway, you may ask there, e.g. at http://forum.powerdivx.com - good luck! But they rather think about using Ogg Vorbis and maybe MPEG4 AAC audio, those formats provide more true quality than the rather a bit fake concept of mp3PRO.
