I had DivX4.12 playing all DivX3 content, didnt work so i installed all the audio codecs I could find (all i found were a couple of MP3 ones), still didn't work, So I tryed uninstalling DivX4, installing DivX3, and then DivX4 NOT playing DivX3 content...
STILL doesnt work!

After installing DivX 3.11, don't forget to run the file called "Run Me First!!" in the start menu (Register_DivX.exe), this installs the "DivX audio" codecs (hacked WMA codecs).
If this is not the reason, load the AVI file into Nandub or VirtualDub, display the "File Information" in the File menu and tell us which kind of "Compression" for the Audio stream is reported.

Uhmmm..this would indicate that he/she is somewhat of an advanced user if he's using Ogg Vorbis. MP3 in AVI is now considered out dated my friend:) Check into Ogg Vorbis.
