Hi,

A couple of years ago I encoded a movie using DivX and WMAv2 (it was a VideoCD rip). I found the CD the other day and I tried to play it, but it didn't work.
The video is fine, but I get no audio.

MediaPlayer says I need a codec, let's get online to download it, but after about ten seconds gives up, and plays the movie without audio. Any other player does the same, minus the codec download attempts.

I know for sure I have the proper codec for WMAv2, yet the audio doesn't get properly decoded. I tried connecting a few DS filters in graphedit, to see if I can go from the file to the renderer and get some noise, but I didn't find any way to connect anything into the WMA decoder filter.

Is there anyone who can tell me which filter I'm missing?

Thanks,
JP

The same procedure as every year:

DivX 3.11 contains a program "Register_DivX.exe" (or the link "Run Me First!!" in its start menu), this installs the DivX audio codecs. These are hacked WMA audio codecs which can be used in AVI files. The original WMA codecs by Microsoft are only used in ASF compliant streaming formats, if at all...
