Hello,
For a couple of days now I am having problems viewing mpeg files. After a couple minutes of play it starts to accelerate faster and faster by itself. The sound remains in synch, i.e. goes from normal sound to 'chipmunk' style.
It does it in both Zoom player and WMP7.1. All mpeg files I have are affected, while Avi/DivX remain OK.
I am running W2K Pro SP2, and haven't installed anything new for a week. I tried to remove and reinstall WMP completely, thinking it would fix some file, to no avail.
I guess something got broken in the mpeg codec files... Is there a way to fix this (i.e. download the original codec files from somewhere), instead of reinstalling the whole OS? I'd try to extract the files from the cabs on the W2K CD, but I'd need to know which ones are used for mpeg decompression.
Any help is appreciated.
