View Full Version : Playback from CD's

I am having problems with playback for CD's.
Basically, the CD spins down after awhile,
and I end up with a lag in playback while
the CD spins back up. The audio, of course,
continues on leaving the video behind. I am
using W2K, I remember WIN95/98 having settings
for this sort of thing, but I can't find them in
W2K. I am using a Lite-On 16x dvd, so the speed
of the drive should not be an issue. If anyone
can help with this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
-G.

Hi,

There are a number of things you can try. Set the priority of your player higher, that way system resources will be available more easily.

Other than that all I can say is that my dvd rom, a 12x, sometimes has the same problems when playing back cds.

I use my cd-burner drive to play cds....much better.

the speed of the drive IS the problem, its to fast. use a program like drivespeed to slow it down. no more spin ups/downs then, and its much more silent.
