I'm not completely new to this (i've ripped before using smartripper, dvd2avi, and tmpgenc), but i wanted to try your dvd2avi/cce guide to see if i like it better. anyways...i have followed all the steps up through creating the pseudo avi with vfapi and resizing the video with virtualdub, but am not sure about the next step. the next step is downsampling the audio to 44.1 KHz, but the only audio files i have are the mp3 created with vob2audio, and the ac3 file. when was i supposed to create the wav file? thanks for your help :)

You can convert the ac3 file to a wav file. Then you have to downsample it to 44.1khz, normalize it and then convert it to mp3.

Personally i use:
- azid to convert ac3 -> wav
- ssrc to downsample and normalize (two pass)
- lame to convert it to mp3

All in a DOS box :rolleyes: but there are frontends to avoid DOS.
