Robshots method on just 1 movie

Instead of using robshots method of re-encoding a movie to fit like 3 movies like he did on 1 dvdr. Could i use his method to re-encode 1 movie so it would be small enough so the menus and extras would fit on the dvd. Someone said i would have to re author the menus or something.

Yes you just need to calculate the correct bitrate for just 1 movie.

I finally finished my project of fitting 2 DVD movies onto a single DVDR and results with CCE are damn awesome!

That's exactly what I do: reencode the film, multiplex it again and substitute the original film VOBs with the reencoded ones. As I want to keep all the menus and some of the extras, there is no menu reauthoring required, only multiplex the film and correct chapter points.
