Hi to All!!!
First of all i want to thank all those ppl who made ripping and backing possible, all the guide authors and programmers there!!!

Im kind of a newbie in this thing.... i buy my pioneer A03 burner last wendsday, and after some research, test and studing, i make 2 rippings perfectly ok by saturday, i rip unwanted audios and extras ... and so on.... well... then i started to think.. uhmmm... why not can i put 2 movies on 1 DVD!!! that would be cool!!... so after some research again i cant find any1 who have done it so far or a guide to do it... well.. i started it myself... this is what i think ............ I can make a movie menu that can point to the 2 movies i want and only replacing the VObs from the big movies to my little menu??.... well....

I was thinking about the method of ripping the main movie without extras so to make a faster test of my theory i made this...

1.- i make 2 movies (3min each) with subs, audio and main menu with DVD maestro.. (the 2 movies works fine).

2.- i make a new movie with 1 menu pointing to 2 movies... that will make my main DVD selection menu (i hope) for the 2 ripping ones...
i realize that only giveme 2 VOBs, and because of it, if i replace the VOB_01.. that make the things go wrong... so i make the menu again with 3 movies... but the first one with only a backgroung pic.. and it no call for it in the menu... so my menu only point to movie 2 and 3 (VObs 2 and 3)

3.- I compile the movie.. test it and work ok...

4.- I replace the VOBs from my menu with the first 2 movies i make (the tests ones), of course renaming their files to the corresponding numbers 2 and 3)... Ifos, BUPS and VOBs, adn guess what!!!! IT WORKS!!!!

Well thereīs a little thing here... all the subs work fine, the audio and the movie... but there is a problem.... the chapters didnt work for the movies i merged... :/.... i was thinking that theres maybe because the VIDEO_TS (the first play thingy) it have the information about the chapters.... so.... I NEED HEEEELLP!!!... thereīs a way to merge or interchange the chapter information from every movie to the main VIDEO_TS???.... or there are any1 who can made this before???....

I know the size of the DVD is not enought for the 2 movies.. but itīs OVbious i have to transcode them to make them fit.... i cant think in another method to do it... so please, any help will be nice...

Thanks!

Audiokiller. :)

You should be able to use chapterxtractor (look in the doom9 software forum), to get the chapter points from the original movies and then cut and past them into a text file and add the header that DVDMaestro likes. I've been doing this for all the movies I transcode with CCE and use DVDMaestro on. The chapters are a little off (a few seconds), but that's fine with me. I only use them to move quickly into the movie.

Let me know how things look when you transcode 2 movies to fit on one DVDr. I've heard some people are doing it, but I don't know how good the quality will be.

I guess i didnt explain too well the first post... that i was trying to do is to put 2 movies on 1 DVD but without extracting the info from Vobs, thatīs because i didnt wat to rebuild the whole movie...

i think im gonna try the robshot method to make a test again :)

Take Care!

I let you know my discoverings...
