I read all about the referer fields needed for downloading, but using XP and IE6 I cannot download anything from this site even after turning all the privacy settings and allowing all cookies on IE6. I am out of ideas here. Someone please help me... I desperately need the new Azid!

have you read the whole page you get when the download doesn't work? there's some info about download managers and firewall settings that could prevent you from sending a referer.

...just to let you know, downloading doesn't work anymore with Opera, either. Cookies, referrers, everything you could imagine enabled. No firewalls, no proxies here. Doesn't hurt me though, I can use my old Netscape. ;)

opera is a problem case.. I've tested v6.0.. and sometimes it would work and sometimes not. But.. reading the leech.htm page I hope every user understands why it's a must to check for an empty referer.

One thing opera users might try: empty the browser cache, load the page again and download what you need. By taking a page from the cache Opera seems not to send a referer, ever, other browsers (IE, Netscape) are a bit more flexible in this area.

Ok, I read the updated anti-leech page and realized I had to change my Norton PF settings. Works now... thanks a million.

np... I will keep updating the page as I learn more.. I don't mean to annoy people with the ref check but it's simply necessary..

You're on the right path, doom9 - I think it's the best way to reduce bandwidth usage of your page because it "hits the right". No apologies needed ;-)

How does one downlaod with a proxy server? Is it possible at all? I must use one with the ISP monopoly where I live. I've tried Opera 6.0, IE 5.5 , both with and with out firewalls and AV software. Changed all settings I could think of. And yes, I did read the anti-leach page. Thanks.
