Hi all. Well I've gone back through about ten pages of posts looking for any instructions on how to do this and I haven't found a thing so I thought I'd ask. What I would like to know is, using Power VCR II is it possible to make a DVD compliant DVD? It doesn't have to be DVD quality as I'm sure it won't be, but what are the exact steps I need to take? According to the capture settings in the PVCRII program I can record DVD quality MPEG-2 files with my ATI TV Wonder card. When I'm done capping a show I just get a huge .mpg file. What is the next step I should do? I know it has to have the TS_ sectors and all that. Do I need to do any other fun stuff with it first? Demuxing, remuxing, rempeging, etc. Thanks much

Hi!

you have to put it into a authoring tool build your menue and brun it. The point is that the mpg file has to be compatible with the settings of your authoring program. ATI Wonder card ? I do not know this thing but are you sure that the mpeg file is mpeg 2 and how big is it?
I want to try something in this way with 25 min. Episodes (Herr Rossi) please keep me informed.
Perhaps you have chosen the wrong forum isn`t here a Capture Forum here @ doom9?

I did the same last week! I used Power VCR II to capture a movie from VHS, and to burn it to DVD-RW.

I've used MyDVD by Sonic to author the DVD with the genereated mgp file by PowerVCR, and I must say, MyDVD really rocks for that.
If the audio does not meet the DVD specification 48khz, then MyDVD simply transcodes the audio stream. Just perfect.
Scenarist NT refused to take the audio file which was 44.1khz before.

But there's one problem capturing with PowerVCR II using a ATI or Hauppage TV card.
With these cards you are only able to capture with a size of 322*288.
You can set the output in PowerVCR to 720*576 to meet the DVD specification, but the capture just gets resized, what will result in an awfull quality.
