Hi,

Im trying to multiplex my divx video with my ac3 sound, and i get a delay in the sound at some points during playback. :( im using divx4.12 encoder with x-mpeg4.2a for the video and 2 pass encoding with a 512x384 resolution 25fps. For the audio rip i used smartripper and sometimes dvd2avi.For the multiplexing audio+video i used nandub v1.0rc2. Does anybody have any idea why this asychronization happens in some points of the movie? i know that for the ac3 sound playback u need a good machine for the playback( mine is an 1gig athlon with 256sdram and an ibm 45gig harddisk 7200rpm ata100 ). im not sure but i think that the video, encoded with VBR, might have something to do with it.

Thanks for any of your replies..

Hi,

Question: Is the source of the audio at 25fps? You said you encoded it that way.

If not, then that could be your problem, the framerate of the audio and the video are not the same.

That would result in a small difference that would get progressively larger as the movie plays on.

first of all thanx for your reply,

my video is encoded at 25 frames as i said, and i said video and audio get asynchronized in some parts of the movie and the whole movie.
Is anybody out there doing movies with divx4.12 encoder(2passes) and ac3 sound? if yes please reply and tell me that everything goes well for you. :(

i'm also having some audio trouble with divx4.12 and ac3.
i ripped Final Fantasy and when i start the movie it ok but when i make a jump forward or backward teh sound is asych. If i let it play from the beginning without touching it, then it plays fine. I'm currently trying a Divx 3 with Gknot to see what happens.

Let u know the results.

I hate to tell you this but Xmpeg/Flask is known for stretching video though it sounds like that's not your problem here. Use Gknot to avoid video stretching should that become an issue fot you.

You guys didn't mention which player your using. Using Direct Sound or Wave Out as the device? Which AC3 filters do you have installed? Also, what is the version of the iviaudio.ax file(Ac3 filter)? What NanDub interleave settings did you use in NanDub? Which sound card and drivers do you have? Are you outputting via SPDIF or Analog?

I think I'll copy all those questions and start pasting it for every AC3 question:D
