Verb*tim DVD-R doesn´t work with Philips

Not a joke, yesterday I´ve burned a image to a Verb*tim and a Vivastar DVD-R.
In my Philips DVD-951 the Verb*tim doesn´t play, the Vivastar does (with the same image) so I decided to never buy one again.
What´s the hell going on with the industry, do you want to sell or do you want to frustrate the end-user?
Shame on you, I´ll NEVER buy one again !!!

I've also had the same probs with that media, plays on PC but not on standalone. The only medias that I NEVER had probs with is Pioneer, Apple, TDK, & Taiyo Yuden.

i had one case that a philps standalone player do not want to play apple DVD-Rs starnge thing these Philips Players. I think they are optimized for this + r / + rw thing, grrrr!
