Ok, I am running an amd k6 500 machine with 576megs sdram, panasonic dvd player awe64 pci sound, trident agp video card. That said I have upgraded dvd2svcd to build 4, installed and reinstalled cce 2.50 3 times, and everytime I run dvd2svcd I wind up with the cannot find vaf file. Of cource I get the ini error first as well. But nothing I have found in any of the forums answers the problem of cce crashing on a amd k6 computer. I tried as well to run just cce and load the .ecl file with no success. I could cut and paste the log but unless someone thinks it will give any insight I don't see the point, as I have cut and pasted the log several times into the newbies forum. Any thoughts, ideas, good old fashioned help would be great. I should mention that until cee starts dvd2svcd runs like a well oiled machine.

Thanx:confused:

Unless I'm mistaken, CCE won't run unless you have a PIII or higher, or an Athlon or higher. I don't think K6 CPUs are supported (I could be wrong).

@Nogami No you are not wrong:)

@norm69 Try using tmpgenc.

Thanx guys, I am downloading it now, Now once I install it and run it how do I complete the process using dvd2svcd? Or do I forget about doing it that way and just use a combination of other rippers/encoders?

Well if you wanna use dvd2svcd I'd suggest you go and download the latest version. It can be found in the download section of this page, or here http://212.88.77.140/.

????

I already have downloaded the latest build, 4. And cce does not work with amd k6 chips, so my problem is I want to make an svcd of a dvd, I can only use dvd2svcd upto but not including cce. tmpgenc was suggested as an alternate. Bearing in mind that I am a newbie and am learning in leaps and bounds, how do I go from using the tmpgenc back to dvd2svcd to finish the process. Or at the very least am I wasting my time using the dvd2svcd on a k6 machine at this time? I love the ease of use of dvd2svcd but am not being given any direct info regaurding the way to make it work on a k6 machine. I have downloaded the tmpgenc software and it seems to be running fine and will have a great .avi to work with, but how do I get that onto a cd-r to play in my standalone? What do I use to convert it, or what must I do to the avi so it can be burned in the right way for the stand alone player??

I see that there is version 1.0.7 build 1 now, So I will download it right away. Kudo's for introducing tmpgenc to this new version/build. I am now using tmpgenc 2.52 rather than the 2.0 that was included with the bundle, and it is encoding great!! The 2.0 was not compatible with k2-500 cpu's, at least not the one on my system. The 2.52(which also has a wizard for helping to encode other streams apart from dvd2svcd)is doing a wonderful job. Let you all kow what the finished result looks like later!!:)

Yes i see you edited your answer, i gave ya that link because the new version of dvd2svcd supports tmpgenc. Since you can run tempgenc i figured why not give dvd2svcd a chance? since it's the bomb.. anyways good luck and glad you understand now why i sent you the link.
