I'm curious about this. I've been doing the encoding jazz for almost 6 months and all of a sudden with the last two movies I haven't been getting any audio and I don't know why. And yes I've loaded the audio and everything so it's nothing that's missing that's obvious to me. Can you guys give me some suggestions as to what it might be so then I can try it?

Thanx, ppl

how come I do that too but it never completely finishes the job. AFter it's done both passes it gets stuck on:

*Append Credits.
*Delete Intermediate Files.
End of Job 1 (Movie 1)

and then the movie doesn't have sound any more and it's really pissing me off cuz it just happened and I don't get why. I've done a million other movies and it just does this the other day.

Hope someone can help.

dude I have no idea how to get my log on here, I can't highlight the log in GKnot I'd have to do it seperately, unless there is another way of doing it??

It looks like 1) your audio transcoded ac3-mp3 just fine, and 2) your second pass of video encoding doesn't complete. That would be a reason that GKnot doesn't interleave -- vdub crashing, perhaps?

Notice your last line in the log is the 2nd pass starting. no ending...

Dionysus
26th February 2002, 18:46
so what do I do now? But see when I'm watching the log it says it's finished the second pass and then it freezes on the

*Append Credits

and how come this would all of a sudden stop working?

jggimi
26th February 2002, 18:48
Look for the log from your second pass. If you are running NT, 2K, or XP, see if the crash/error was logged.

See if you're out of disk space.

Etc.

Dionysus
27th February 2002, 00:01
are you saying that if my disk space is really low that will screw things up. I could understand that but I've still got like 3.95 Gb left?? That should be more than enough just to do the audio shouldn't it??

jggimi
27th February 2002, 00:07
It's not the AUDIO, it's the second pass of VIDEO that seems to not be completed.

Look through the log you posted. You'll see, starting at 9:57:08
First Azid pass to determine normalized volume
Second Azid pass to convert ac3 to wav
Lame to convert wav to mp3
First Virtual Dub pass of the video
Second Virtual Dub pass --- that doesn't complete
Muxing of the audio occurs only after the second pass completes. Your log doesn't show a completion.

I have no idea why vdub seemed to fail. I'm also not an expert. Your OS may have logged an error it if you're using Windows NT/2K/XP, or you may have data in a virtual dub log file.
