Hi, as you probably have noticed my server is pretty booked, so I was wondering if anybody would like to mirror the dvd2svcd bundle. Needless to say that I prefer fast and stable mirrors :)

Thanks guys :)

how about instead of donating money donate hosting DVD2SVCD mirror.
edited: (cuz I wanted to)

so just host the newest bundle about 5MB. 1GB =200 downloads. 5GB/month would = 1,000 downloads.
DVD2SVCD is not warez but you'll most likely have to explain it.

@DVD2SVCD are people still downloading those old bundles?

problem is that you don't have 5gb, but rather a 100GB (that's the value on my servers until I pulled the download... I'm sure the official homepage gets at least as much)...

Holy cow..didn't realize that many people existed in this small world. In that case please people use Morpheaus, Kaaza or whatever file sharing app you are into to spread it like wildfire and save the precious bandwidth. Search for 'D2S107B1.exe'

Search for 'D2S107B1.exe' This is a great idea, use everyone's extra bandwidth at once. I for one, am sharing D2S107B1.exe and the 107B2 update, and I plan on keeping the newest version in my shared folder whenever it is updated. It could help to fill in some of the details in Morpheus or whatever, like:

Title: DVD2SVCD 1.0.7 Build 1 Bundle
Author: dvd2svcd
Category: graphics and multimedia
Keywords: doom9 dvd2svcd mp2 dvd rip CCE TMPGEnc
Description: DVD -> SVCD all-in-one package (requires CCE SP 2.x or TMPGEnc)

That's what I put at least. I think it would be nice if everyone else who has a copy of it would do the same. Just so we have another place to get the software if the mirrors seem slow.

perhaps the official DVD2SVCD page should say the size of the files for verification. here morpheus shows 5,569KB and 144KB respectively.

p.s. I'm still working on an actual server mirror, I gotta free up some space on my buddies school account first though, then his school can get a real stress test

edit: and here it is-http://dvd2svcd.doesntexist.org

@pacohaas:

Is it ok if I use your site as a mirror?

I think the secret is to remove the bundles.

We could change the software packaging. Perhaps we could have a base software pack and then specific packages for releases that only have the release specific changes. When the release packages get too large due to the base software changing in releases we could have a new base install and move forward from there.

This techniques seems to have been adopted for release 107B2 and 107B3 but it could become the norm. Build 107B2 was only 145Kb, DVD2SVCD is 930Kb when compressed this is quite small compared to the pack as a whole. I think you could host several times the downloads with the same capacity now used.

I realise one of the good things about DVD2SVCD is the simple install but perhaps it is unaffordable.

Hope this helps.

i had to change the shell of my mirror, cause a constant 24/7 75kb/s proved to not be enough.

i changed it to a 100mbit link, max REAL output registered is 8000k/s. that should be enough for everybody

edit: i sent an email to dvd2svcd with the new link, still not updated in the main page. dont blame me.

Do you still need mirrors? I have a server with unlimited bandwidth which I can host the latest version on for free.
