First, I wanna say that I have used forced film and that stuff to de-interlace movies, but the only thing that has always worked is tmpegs automatic ivtc. Everything else always will have a few small errors like repeat frames. Well, I have been using the vfapi for framserving, and I heard that there is a way to do the automatic ivtc thing with tmpeg, save the project and convert it to something I can use with avisynth which is faster. Anyone know how to do this?

2nd is resizing/cropping. I also heard there is some gui or something for avisynth that takes care of all the complicated parameters. Also looking for some info on this.

I like using tmpeg because it is reliable, but I hear that avisynth is much faster (I don't have any experience with it tho). If I could keep the reliabilty of tmpeg's ivtc and use avisyth's resizing features, I would really like it because I could get the same qaulity output at a faster speed.

I'm experimenting with ripping to svcd now. I am doing one with dvd2svcd, but I don't have the power with resizing and cropping using it. I am trying ivtc with it now

Well, Dvd2svcd uses decomb or Greedy depending on which one you have specified in the filepath. Each is excellent. The default is Decomb by Donald Graft and is supposed to work very well. You can take a look at the long thread in the aviSynth forum.

These routines should be called automatically if needed. Sometimes it is better, on those videos, to just click on IVTC in the Dvd2avi tab when you set up your encode.

As for : "I heard that there is a way to do the automatic ivtc thing with tmpeg, save the project and convert it to something I can use with avisynth which is faster. Anyone know how to do this?"

I think you are speaking of this thread:
