Don't know if this is the right place to ask... I have some AVIs with AC3 (DivX) which I'd like to demux so I have one AVI without sound and one AC3 file. I'm going to encode the AVIs to MPEG2 and burn on DVD with the AC3 file.

- how do I "rip" the AC3 file out of the AVI?
- how do I avoid "desynching" the sound when encoding MPEG2?

Thanks!

Just use Nandub...

After you open up the movie, select 'Save WAV' from the file menu. Just name the file .AC3 and you're good to go.
As far as desyncing the sound...what program are you going to use to encode to MPEG2? How do you plan to mux the files back together?

Ok, I was afraid Nandub would "convert" it to a real waveform. Thanks for that. I'll be encoding in TMPGEnc2.5.x I think, and just dropping the ac3 on the mp2 file in Scenarist or DVDit (whichever I feel for at the moment :-))
