Could anyone explain the luminance level choice in CCE to me? When should you use 0 - 255 and when should you use 16 - 235. I use CCE to make SVCDs of what I capture from TV.

I've also noticed that upper field first is always ticked by default. Should I leave it like that if my source avi is a (PAL) analogue TV capture?

Thanks in advance

If I remember right the lumina is 0-255 for ntsc and 16-235 for pal.
and that is because ntsc has alot brighter image than pal so if you want to get almost the same brightness you have to change the luminance settings.

that is also a if I remember right, what I remember is that cce has a bug and first field is always used even if you choose something else so you have to fiddle and change that with other tools on the encoded mpv file later, but a analogue tv capture is upper field first the right choise for pal I belive.
soo there is a lot of if I remember right.

Cool thanks, I got the feeling myself that 0-255 came out a bit too dark.

About the upper field first.
So if the bitrate viewer shows "Field top first: No" on the DVD .vob files, so I have to uncheck in CCE "upper field first", but if it has a bug and allways uses first field, I need to add this swith "-tff even" to pulldown.exe?
What a question...:D
