I am having some weird issues with ogg container:

version 0.9.8.3 will play the muxed xvid encoded video & vorbis encoded audio just fine. However, it will freak out the video when the container has mp3 audio.

version 0.9.8.4 simply just hang WMP even with just the xvid video stream only.

system is win2K with the following s/w installed :
Divx4.12
Nic's Xvid 2-18-2002
Divx3.11 alpha
MPG4v3 VKI
0.9.8.3 / 0.9.8.4 OggDS ( only one version at a time )

I followed Doom9's guide using version 0.9.8.3 with vorbis audio and everything is fine. The problems are with mp3 and version 0.9.8.4.

Let me guess .. are you guys trying to play a movie with 0.9.8.4 that was muxed with 0.9.8.3 ?

@ChristianHJW

No

1. I muxed the original xvid encoded video + either mp3 audio or vorbis audio using 0.9.8.4. The result is that WMP launched and it hang up with a black screen. I have to use task manager to kill the app after a while.

2. I figured it must be the audio issue, so I just mux the xvid encoded video alone into 0.9.8.4, and the same thing happened.

3. I reinstalled 0.9.8.3 and muxed just the video again, and voila, WMP played it without hesitation.

4. I added the vorbis encoded audio, and WMP played the clip once again without hesitation.

5. Now, the mp3 + xvid => ogg container has always been an issue for me from the beginning, and vorbis + xvid => is not a problem. Therefore, I just use vorbis audio instead of mp3; Vorbis audio is much better anyway.

Everything made with 0.9.8.4 istalled:

WMP plays the xvid+mp3 ogm-file but I cannot seek and the shown total time is wrong. XVid+Vorbis ogm-file works perfectly and also video only ogm-file plays without any problems.

With 0.9.8.3 installed nothing works at all (WMP crashes without playing)

This can also mean that 0.9.8.3 (and/or previous) mux not perfecty???? :scared:

I don't use subtitles, only DivX4 track + 2 ogg audio tracks
Are there problems with 0.9.8.2 or 0.9.8.3 for this simple muxes?
I ask this becouse have just burned and DELETED 2 files muxed with these versions! :(

These works perfectly, only at "first play" they suffer a bit of stuttering (strange, not noticed with 0.9.8.2) that disappear after 15-20 seconds.

P.S.: I have not muxed subtitles.

No, you should be fine with normal muxing, only those using subtitles may have probs, mainly playback related ...
