Actually the AUDIO_TS folder is not required for all DVDs. I own a few DVDs myself that has no AUDIO_TS folder (only VIDEO_TS). Besides the AUDIO_TS folder has nothing to do with the movies and it's audio on a DVD, it is there for "DVD Audio" which is an audio only format that didn't really make it into mainstream. DVD Audio is an audio format that has enhanced sounds compaired to CD Audio and has multiple channel support. There are only a handful of DVD Audio discs available.
Anyways your problem is more than likely a screw up in the authoring stage. Did you test the *.vobs before you burned it?? Did you have sound then??? It's always good to test the files on your HD before you burn to an expensive DVD-R disc.

yep i did test the movie with powerdvd4 before burning (using load movie from harddisk).
it play fine (video AND audio).
this is my second movie without audio :(
first one, i did not remap my french audio stream to 0x80 so i thought that was why it did play audio on standalone.
second one, french audio was 0x80 so i did not changed anything, but still no audio on standalone :(
i rip/strip with smartipper
correct ifo with ifoedit
burn with recornowmax
i'm thinking : next time, i'll deactivate all prohibited user operations in ifoedit so i might get a chance to change audio track on my standalone.
