Hi all

Please help a newbie.

Ok, I encoded the avi to mpeg2, and the wave to mpeg3. But how do I merge/join the two files into one mpeg/mpeg2, without having to re-encode or in anyway have to mess with the quality mpeg2 file I just created? I've tried using Adobe Premiere, but can't figure out how to save to mpeg2, with the sound attached.

Sincerly
Kenneth

What you are saying does not make much sense to me... I think you should read the guides in doom9.net because perhaps you are lacking some basic information.

with mpeg3 I suppose you mean mpeg-1 layer 3 audio (AKA mp3), and with mpeg2 I suppose you mean mpeg-2 video.

mp3 is not allowed in SVCD, you *MUST* use mpeg I layer 2 (mp2).

When you have a PROPERLY encoded mpeg-2 video file and mpeg-1 layer 2 audio file, you can multiplex them in a single .mpg file with audio and video.

To do that, you can use for example use TMPGEnc and in file->mpeg tools select simple multiplex, SVCD, select your file names and "run".
