just started, and it's on the 32 HOUR  encoding process via ReMPEG2 for "Unbreakable" with english 448kbit/s AC3 for a burn on a DVD-R general on an A03 using DVDit! PE...

there are a few things I was wondering if anyone could interpret, so as my time isn't wasted:

first off, the average kbit/s I wanted was almost exactly the same as the encoded VOB average rate (4602kbit/s) and I couldn't even select it on the slider, I went all the way to 90%, which was 4400 or something, is that cool?

second:

"Encoding Info"

average time/picture: 597
average PSNR: 61.62 db
overall RC error: -115000 (fluctuates alot, but that seems ball park)
shortterm RC error: 33000 (again, all over the place here)

on the "Log" every number after "grc:" is a large negative number, eg: "grc: -97150" the guide on vcdhelp has no negatives shown in the pic!! should I be concerned?

the statistic graph shows that the target and the encoded are the same, but there are alot of sharp peaks...

basically, what I am saying is that I have no clue what this info means, and would like to know...

thanks

Hi!
i think 32h is a little bit too long for encoding, or was it a 400 mins. movie? What cpu do you use?
