using doom9's guide i created a single cd copy of planet of the apes with a divx 3.11 video stream and a vorbis sound stream and muxed these as per his guide now the resulting file plays ok in wmp6 ( except for locking up sometimes while seeking) but the sound distorts at high volume in powerdivx 3.12 I don't understand this as both should be using the same ds filters and therefore should give the same results or is pdivx doing something extra to distort the sound.
Perhaps this should be posted in the avi player forum.

Thanks for the input, i will make sure Blacksun will have a look here .... can you have a look at your 'filter list' in PDivX3.12 and name all the elements here ?

pDivx shows these filters
C:\videos\PLANET_OF_THE_APES\test ogg.avi
Default Waveout Device
DivX MPEG-4 DVD Video Decompressor
Ogg Splitter
Video Renderer
Vorbis Decompressor
and tried with DeDynamic checked and un-checked
