You can listen to the second track independantly if you have a player that supports it. There are several on the download page on this site. I find Zoom player works well for that.

then you have to install the morgan stream switcher

note for those of you not using WiMP 6.4 (like me,
who has winXP and didn't wanna bother getting an
old version of WiMP... actually I don't even wanna
use WiMP whatsoever):

using Morgan Stream Switcher screwed my computer
real bad, and even rendered ZoomPlayer unusable
with two AC3 tracks. The "AudioFilters" pack from
doom9's downloads page also includes a Morgan Stream
Switcher installation, which screws things up too.

I had originally installed the "AudioFilters" so I
overinstalled a plain Morgan Stream Switcher deal
so I could get the uninstallation program, which gets
MSS off your system, then ZoomPlayer started working,
but still not without a crash now and then...

Morgan Stream Switcher is a simple Filter, no need to be concerned.

To uninstall it simply type "regsvr32.exe /u MMSwitch.ax" in Run.
To install it type "regsvr32.exe /s MMSwitch.ax" when you have put it in System32 or similar.
Problems with AC3? Type "regsvr32.exe /u mpgaudio.ax" and "regsvr32.exe /u iviaudio.ax" to uninstall the filters. Then type "regsvr32.exe /s mpgaudio.ax" and "regsvr32.exe /s iviaudio.ax" to install them. This usually helps!

I recommend BSPlayer!
I like it much more than the mediaplayer and you can easily switch between different audio channels.

When I switch audio it usually takes until the next key frame that sound comes back. Anyway there might be some problems if you have quite different bitrates in your two sound tracks (or even different formats?). From my experience ABR and VBR MP3 files can make problems. I depends a little bit on how fast your machine is. Since I went from PII to Athlon XP there were no more problems ;-).

However, I am close to switching to .OGM for dual audio files. First you are not limited to two audio tracks, second you gain features like instantaneous seeking. VBR audio is supported natively and you even can use the really well Ogg Vorbis. Best thing after all is you don't need an additional filter like MSS. Just my opinion.

I guess there will be a time when the language selection even works in WMP 7.x and MPXP. As far as I know Tobias is working on that.

Have a nice day!

I alredy switched to .ogm for two audio tracks.
I'm using WMP6.4 and I'm really satisfied.:D

@magilvia:

Right so. It's a free format and I like it quite much, although editing should improve a little bit, but there's hope on the horizon. Tobias and also Koepi are really doing great work.

@yosemite:

What kind of DivX are you talking about? Which audio codec are you using? System specs? I'd say there are many ways to have two audio tracks in a DivX file...
