hi,

newbie needs help:

1. after 20hrs of encoding I got an error saying:
"the generated encodings and difference data coud not be opened. error: unknown error no. 80004005"
I've got several programms installed on xp (gknot, vd,etc.). what could be the problem?

2. I'm archiving dvd's to my hd. I'd be interested in larger filesizes...larger than 2 gb. i can write larger numbers into the apprpriate field in fu, but that doesn't work, right? 1999 mb is the max, am i right?

thanks a lot for any hints

You could break the movie in parts and then use nandub to put them back together. I think the 2gb limit is part of FU and can't be overcome. Also to get the most out of your two gigs make sure you set the audio to 0 bit. I belive the reason for the limit has to do with .avi files.

thanx spencer

but splitting up the file isnt possible as far as I know, because fu uses its own ripper - and only its own ripper! and that cannot be told to split the files...;(

still: thanx for your ideas!

To split the movie in more parts using FU you have to make two different encodings like the first one from frame 1 until 1/2 the frames and then another encoding starting at the 1/2 way point. You would only need to rip the movie once just go to open a project and it will have a way to add a new section of video. Make sure you use the same resulition if you want to make them one movie again.
