Love this codec.
But if it is such a mistake to select luminance masking on the 1st pass, then why isn't the check box disabled in the 1st pass options?
Great work lads!

I'll merge it in the next commit.
I'm working on fixing Doom9's undersizing bug atm (it is a bug)..

When I encoded Ronin, the size came out about 10kb off the desired size :) (that was H.263, no lumi, no credits stuff, 1-31 all round)
Very cool.

Doom9's case was a codec-killer - the overflow gets overridden if it's above a certain size, relative to the desired frame size. In this case it was overridden early, and the fall-back (multiplying the desired size by 1.5) just wasn't enough to make up the difference, so the overflow kept running away.
I just got back from a job after work, so I'll start coding a fix.

Switching Luma off automaticall in first pass would be highly appreciated.
Plus:
Not enabling Quantizer Modualation during 1st pass would be great, too.
I didn't do it wrong yet, but when entering the settings in VDub, every time I'm afraid I might accidently enable Quantizer Modulation on first pass and triple check it every time...

I haven't merged the modulation code into CVS yet, so there's not much point in adding code to disable it :)
Should make it in there soon. The API is about to get "simpler".

It already does something like this now, franko.
It takes MPEG quant type for first pass when modulated is choosen....
Well, and turning off luma masking - well i could do that, would be only a small fix. To small to even put up a new binary ;)
I'll look into this later, now I've to make lunch...
