Does anyone have a idiots guide to making motion menus using Maestro/Reel DVD ?

I am currently writing a tutorial on this, based upon previous material I wrote on Flexion some months ago. If you look on the replies I wrote to Areku's posts last week, you'll find some pointers, until I release my tut's.
In short, you can create a basic motion menu simply by dropping a movie onto the menu editor INSTEAD of a background picture. Timeouts and looping can then be set using the available options within the menu editor. Incidentally, audio can also be dropped ontop of the movie.

Dunno if this will be convered in your tutorial or not, but one thing that I'd love to be able to figure out is how to delay the start of the subpictures on a menu. I've seen plenty of DVDs that play a little animation and then pop up the subs midway through the stream.
Has anyone figured out how to do this, or is this something that requires scenarist?

My tut will include all the steps required for a novice to author a basic DVD with Maestro, and this includes menu construction. I will add further advanced techniques in the weeks to come, so although timed subs are possible within Maestro, this won't appear >initially< in the tut. Patience please(!), I promise it will be worth it. I want to help people to learn the foundations of authoring first, and then further revisions of the tut will demonstrate how to build upon these, to achieve more advanced effects.
I will, of course welcome suggestions, following the "beta" release of the tut.

Can you implement more than the basic?
Use of Command Sequence? Use of advanced settings?
Can we just make a few dummy projects as a help file to your tutorial and post it somewhere.
I started a group on Yahoo. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dvdmaestro/?yguid=95616024
If doom9 couldn't host the files than we could have it under Files on groups.yahoo.

So YES, you can expect more in depth stuff, but please let's not "put the cart before the horse" - Rome was not built in a day.
I can promise you that I am currently working flat-out on this tut, and will be releasing a first draft very soon. I understand that there is a demand for a tutorial, both from newcomers to Maestro, and from more experienced users, and consequently, I will endeavour to meet the needs of both parties in due course. Doom9 forum members will be the first to know...
