I would like to know what i the best values for antishit.. im currently using 16,0,0 and getting blocky results.. im also using motion based curve modulation of 25 and curve compression of around 25.. i cant get the blocks away to save my life.. ive lowered res to 576x???, ive upped bitrate by 20 to 30 bits .. ihave no clue how to get rid of these blocks.. can someone help me?

There are no "best settings".
You have to try around to find the settings that suite your needs/movie.
If you can't get rid of block artefacts you should shoot for one more cd.

the movie is the breakfast club.. its 92mins long at resolution of 576x304, using high bitrate of 857 as calculated by nandub with a crosspoint of 245. low bitrate of 460, no luminance, 2500,270,(motion settings) 25 curve compresion always, 30 motion based curve modulation, and all other basic settings according to koepi (yes u lol) and doom9... dont know whats goin on

Since that's a rather old movie (but I loved it back when it was new in the early 80's), you might need to apply some denoise filter.
I'd suggest a temporal smoother with strength 1.
I hope this helps,

Mangus-
What resize method are you using? If you're using sharp or neutral bicubic try soft bicubic or perhaps bilinear (not a fan of it but it will clean up the blockiness). Depends if you care more about crisp edges/detail or blocky artifacts.

im using precise bilinear... a followup question. im using motion modulation of zero(hope its a good setting) should i have enable bits reservoir modulation checked if i dont use any value for motion based curve modulation.. thought htat might be a problem
thx guys.. later

drop your min bitrate a bit (I know it is up to try and stop blockiness, but raising it that high on 1CD usually causes more problems then it fixes). throw a temporal smoother on it and compress a small part of the movie to see how it looks. If it is still noisey, put a spatial smoother on as well (Breakfast Club ain't the best of sources and the DVD ain't amazing). res. modulation should be enabled for 1 CD if motion-based isn't. I would use MBCM though, it seems to work better.

Read the NOE and find out about "motion modulation" and "bits reservoir modulation"....
