fast-forward in divx 4.12

when i move the postion bar in any viewer i try (wmp, zoom, powerdivx,) the audio is right on but its almost like the movie speeds up to re sync witht eh audio and appears to fast forward this does not bother me i laughed the first time i saw it but i was just wondering what was the cause?

No you aren't alone, but this is perfectly normal. The video has to seek to the next key frame to regain synch (unless you are lucky and land right no one). DivX 3.11 does the same thing, except that it doesn't let you see that it is happening, so you get a black screen and no audio until it hits that next keyframe.

If it really bothers you, use Ogg as a container since seek times are really fast.

If you set a low keyframe value, like keyframe = 1 second you'll have a very fast seektime.

and a nice jerky playback :D

a real fast seek is achieved with kf to 5/6 seconds
i use 6/8 in nandub, and 4/5 in vdub
never go under 3 seconds
