When i try to do a svcd with dvdx and cce sp 2.64 or 2.62 the server goes down just in the beginning of the encoding, or the process goes fine but when i open the mpg file the only thing i see is a stopped image with the sound running well. I just read all the guides in doom 9 and other guides and it seems that doing all right. I donīt know what i should do more to fix this problem. The only way that i can do a svcd is by one pass vbr. How can i do to solve this?

Thanks

are you trying to frame serve an avi to cce? cce 2.6x does not support input via frame served avi. use 2.50 as it does support this feature.. but doesnt support audio encoding while using an amd cpu.

if you are indeed frame serving to 2.6x this question was answered in the CCE FAQ, question 3.

I have never got multi-pass to work with DVDx frameserving to CCE. I think it is a bug in DVDx. The only multi-pass solution that worked for me was to do DVDx frameserving to TMPGEnc. This is what the author of DVDx uses to test his multi-pass encoding.

Of course you can frameserve avi to cce 2.62/64 -> edwins video server plugin 0.93

You only can do a multipass=1 with dvdx and cce.

First do a CBR encoding to get the audio and (important) a .vaf
Then do a multipass=1 encoding and cce should immediately start with the mpv because it finds the valid vaf. Of course donīt change the settings in dvdx.

Yes i'm using the videoserver plugin 0.93 with dvdx 1.7, but i only tried the multipass=3. Let me see if i understand, you are saying to do a cbr encoding only to get the audio and the *.vaf files, and after that to encode only the video file with multipass=1, and in the end to do the multiplex with this files *.mp2 and *.mpv? The *.vaf is only needed to do the encoding of the video, not for the multiplex?
By the way, what are the settings to get a very good quality in the avg and max bitrate, i saw very guides with diffents values for this, and iīm a little confused because my idea is to get a very good svcd, independent of number of cds i use are 2 or 3(2 hours of film).
