Hi all,

I have always done PAL DVD -> DivX since PAL is the standard here in OZ.

However just recently I attempted to rip "Empire Records" which for some strange reason has been released as NTSC here.

I ripped the movie as per usual (Smartripper, Gknot, Nandub to mux the vbr mp3 audio), but at the end I found something really strange... The audio begins in synch, but very quickly loses synch very badly.

I turned on the "Adjust movie framerate so video and audio lengths are the same" option in Nandub and tried again. This time its was a bit better but still not quite right. By the way, Nandub changed the framerate of the movie to 23.999 fps.

I them adjusted the Audio delay, and with some fudging around got it to synch perfectly at the start of the movie, and a few times throughout the movie. But in other parts the movie again loses synch, only to slowly regain it again, then lose it again etc.

Anyone know whats going on here, and a solution to my woes? Thanks in advance.

Try to ivtc the movie with decomb from donald graph.
the options you should use is the loadplugin("path\decomb.dll")
telecide()
decimate(5)
in the avs file.
and you should have no frame processing in dvd2avi.
it should work if there is nothing else wrong in your chain.

good look
