Hi there,
I've just taken the latest dvd2svcd version available on this site and looking around i've got the CCE 2,50 SP with all needed as well.
Last night I've tryed it and I've used all paramiters as specified on dvd2svcd giude. Yesterday I've sow that it were working fine and when it was performing the CCE encoding I said let go to slip because I know it needed long time. This morning the CCE was still running declaring that it needed other 23Hrs to complite. Than I've aborted it.
There any body that have any suggestion to help me to make it faster?
I've a Dell Dimension 8100, P4 1.3GHz, Intel850, 128Mb SDRAM and 40GB 7200PPM.
Thank you

Last night I've done some other tests.
Looking to the forum I've seen that all of you is referring to the CCE speed and it seams that it should be in the range of 0.5 to 1.2 depending by CPU memory ect. Well I've verified it the it was 0.04.
I sow that I were using the biuld 1 of the dvd2svcd 1.0.6 while here it's avaible the biuld 4. So I've downloaded. Uninstalled the older version and the CCE 2.50. Then I've installed the biuld 4, the CCE 2.50 and the petch the I've found on Q44 on QA.
Now the CCE speed is 0.07 or even lower and it's requiring over 30 hours even if I've taken just one language and no subtitles.
I've seen the CCE encoder has some setting. Should I change anything there to speed up? Or is it all my computer depeding this bad permormance ? in this case what should i do or check on my computer.
I'll really appreciate any help on this

Hi stefano,

you are using dvd2svcd and because of its many parameters that can have influence on encoding speed this should go to the dvd2svcd Newbie Forum instead, i think. ;)

But anyway, as a first basic hint - you should really have at least 256MB of RAM with CCE and Avisynth frameserving it. This is your main bottleneck especially when using Win2k/XP and a lot of background processes with it. Have a look at dvd2svcd forum (Advanced and Newbie) and search for a CCE speed thread as it was and is discussed in deep there. ;)

Greetings,

Hello Stefano !

I Had exactly the same problem with W2K, 128MB SDRAM, 1GHz Athlon,...
I was using DVD2SVCD 1.6 Build 4 and CCE 2.5 gave me a speed of 0.05.
Simply adding another 256MB memory module brought the speed up to 0.87 !!!

Do it, it's worth it !
