I know this question has been asked and I am sorry to repeat it but the search function won't accept '99' because it's less than 3 characters.
I have some of those CompUSA 99 minute CDRs. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the largest 'CD size' I can get away with on these 99 min CDRs using DVD2SVCD.
Thanks in advance,
Raz

I tried '99' and this doesn't quite fit, as the previous thread states

I will be getting my 90 minute CD-R discs on Wendsday.
The first hurdle will be your CD-R drive. What that is capable of burning. Not all drives burn the same amount of data on the same discs. See the Q + A for a couple of links.
The second hurdle is will your DVD player be able to read the discs.
Both of these questions can only be answered by testing it yourself. Unless somebody else has the exact same setup as you, burner, DVD player, discs and software.
Luckily it is simple enough to remux the files to test. Granted you will probably end up burning some coasters until you get the right settings, but it's the only way.
If you don't know you have to edit the .d2s file and change this line bbMPEGCDSize=816 (this was for a final size of 827mb). DVD2SVCD adds between 11 and 12mb to the bbmpeg size for the .bin file. Then using crash recovery start at muxing and cutting again. Just changing the cd size in DVD2SVCD does not work when using crash recovery.
For my 90 minute discs I think I will first try a setting of 916 and go up or down from there until it works for me. I am not even sure that my DVD player will work with them yet. Lets hope. I bought a 100 of them.
Good luck,
Mark

check out this site for max overburn sizes with 90min cd's http://www.disc4you.com/news/99min.html
@Markrb
mark I have been using 90min cd's for a while now & my Pioneer dv55 has no problem reading them.
however, my Ricoh 9120 burner does not like playing them back.(Max size 859mb on the 9120)
the drive struggles when reading the overburned section of the disk using Powerdvd or windvd.

Slick, I have a Pioneer DV-535 and a Ricoh 7083 and I'm quite interested in them 90 min CD-Rs.
I have successfully burnt 80 min ones using Nero, but some of them when played on the Pioneer skip towards the end of the recording. This doesn't happen with every disc though, about half of my attempts played just fine up to 79:55.
I was led to think that Pioneers don't quite like big CD-Rs, but since you have no problems with 90 mins, obviously this is not the case. Could you please tell me what is your blanks brand and recording speed for successful results? Oh, and what model is your Pioneer? You missed the middle digit of the model!
Cheers

Nope I didnt miss a character it is a pioneer Dv55 home cinema system. dolby digital 5.1, DTS, cdr, cdrw, RDS tuner etc.
the only thing this model will not play is Mp3.
(the new version plays Mp3's also)
the 90 min media I have used are infiniti 99min & also some very cheapo silver 99mins. both work fine in the DV55. also all the 74 & 80min cdr/cdrw cd's I have used work with no problems.
just in case you are interested.
