Thanks

Hi fletch,

have a look at the "Newbie FAQ" and at the "Newbie Reference" that's linked in it - there you'll find your answer (besides many many more). ;)

Greetings,

P.S. Keep in mind that standalones can have serious troubles with them.

Thanks gerti67 ,

Sorry, I didn't know the FAQ had that info

The answer for anyone wondering is -

740 is 74min CD
800 is 80min CD
900 is 90min CD
999 is 99min CD

cheers

fletch

Hy
The problem with DVD2SVCD ist, if you put 800 CD-size in your Bitrate Tab, you will get about 805-807 MB. I had much problems to burn this size on a 80min CD-R.
So my TIP:

740 -5 MB is 74min CD
800 -5MB is 80min CD
900 -5MB is 90min CD
999 -(?? NOT TESTED BY ME) is 99min CD

@ leck'me

maybe this problem is only with your drive, don't you think? I do use these 807 MB images with 80min CDR without even the need of overburn enabled. If you took the time to read the newbie FAQ you will see that 807 MB is right when burning 80min CDR as SVCD.

actually I think 99 min cds are 990 mb and not 999 mb
and the 99 min cds are problem. I never tried 99 min cds but I have about 100, 90 min cds that I burn and I can read them in my teac cd reader and my burner but it will not work on my 16x dvd-rom drive so I would think that 99 min is even more trouble than 90 min cds.

Hi Kandor,

actually I think 99 min cds are 990 mb and not 999 mb

that was my first thought, too. Seems to be quite logical - isn't it? ;) But i've never used one of those 99 min CDs so i adviced to use the values from the "Newbie Reference". I think i will try them some day because my Mitsumi is said to support them. ;)
