View Full Version : Title Image and CCE - strange problems

Hello,

I am experiencing strange problems while encoding a PAL DVD under WIN 98 SE. As DVD2SVCD 1.0.6 build 4 is running just fine when I don't use a title picture or CD-change image, CCE always crashes with a bad kernel32 call when such an image is being used. It does not matter what kind of title picture is being used (i.e .BMP or .JPG), even the default DVD2SVCD title image causes CCE to crash as soon as the converted image (picture_name.bmp.mvs) is being loaded into CCE.

Searching the forum as well as reading various FAQs did not help me with that problem. It seems to me that I am the only one experiencing such problems with CCE and title images.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards.

Omron.

Hi Omron,

that's weird indeed. But is dvd2svcd really trying to load a file like "ChangeCDPicture.bmp.mvs" into CCE or is this just a typo? The files must have an extension with *.avs so have a look for those files in your specified directory. And further on, is this with all DVDs or just with the last one you tried?

Greetings,
gerti67

P.S. Post some logs please (*.bmp.avs, *.d2s, *.txt)

Hy
I had the same problem with the 1.0.6 Build_1
Try the new DVD2SVCD Version.

Hello again,

I was finally able to solve the problem. First of all, the above mentioned filename (titlepicture.bmp.mvs) was indeed a typo. The correct suffix of course is '.avs' . Second, the reason for CCE to crash was a screwed up installation of WIN 98. I was able to see DVD2SVCD running smoothly on a separare installation of WIN 98 on another partition of my harddisk. However, my standalone DVD player (a SCAN 200 with FW 2.36b1) was displaying an error message instead of the encoded title picture, but played the movie flawlessly.
I guess I will just have to try a different title image the next time.

I will keep you posted.

Thanks for your replies.

Regards.

Update - Update - Update

Hello again,

this is just a short update on the title picture issue:

Well, I have just finished encoding another PAL movie clip and the DVD2SVCD log file gives me NO error messages at all :)
This time I haven chosen to use the change CD picture supplied by the DVD2SVCD program as my title picture, since it is of the same resolution (480x576) as your typical PAL SVCD.
Once again, the movie clip plays perfectly without any glitches. However, instead of the title picture being displayed after loading the disc in my standalone I get an error message saying
'avisynth caught an access violation at 0x0a2011c8 attempting to read from 0xb80adc01'
Having used the search option in this forum on the avisynth error issue, I have found quite a few posts. However, almost all them were regarding avisynth errors in conjunction with bad .VOB files and did not help me with my problem at all.
I only get the avisynth error when using a title picture and it never appears in the movie itself.

Any clues ?

Regards.

Omron.

PS I have kept all of my logfiles from the last encoding. If it is of any help I will post them here upon request.
