Can the process priority be switched mid encode so you can check a few things on the web then switch back to normal priority?

I am waiting forever on some extra ram for my system. Have 128megs right now and when cce is working, the system is useless for anything else.

If no one else has tried this I will experiment but I was wondering if anyone had tried this already.

TIA for any thoughts. BK

first of all: ugrade your ram!
secondly, if your are using w2k or wxp you can use system manager (ctrl-shift-escape) to set priority

Although you can do what da franksta said I highly doubt with that little amount of ram you will be able to do much at an acceptible speed. CCE is a serious memory hog and you will be pagging like crazy and that will slow you way down even if you alter the priority.

Actually, it isn't CCE that is the memory hog, it is infact Avisynth.

As you all predicted, it does not help. System still lugs to the point of being ridiculous.

Will have 384 ram as soon as Dell ships my order. Nothing travels by air from US to Canada since 9/11.

Thanks to all.
