Hi,

I got DVD Rebuilder Pro a few years ago

1- I changed email and updated to windows 7 x64. Now, DVD RB Pro doesn't start at all. I tried to run in compatibility and admin mode, no way. Any solution?

2- I used to encode with CCP SP and it now won't run on Win7 x64. Any help?

Please, help me run DVD-RB on Win 7x64
And help me transmit my new email

Many thanks

Well,

I reinstalled and run everything as admin
Now, I could get Reg-RB.exe run and download a new key with my old no more valid email

But, rebuilder.exe won't start still :-(

It's your anti-virus software. Some of these anti-virus package should be dumped completely. If it isn't BD-RB it's some other program they've decided "heuristically" to stop from running. If you're running Comodo personal firewall I would be willing to bet it's the issue. But whatever anti-virus software you're using -- use its configuration and tell it to allow BDRB.EXE.

I've found Trend Micro's Titanium to be a reliable anti-virus package that doesn't overstep its bounds. If possible I would refuse to even live in the same zip code as Norton... it's one of the worst offenders.

Thank you for the prompt support
I use Comodo firewall and G Data antivir

I tried to disable all comodo parts (Sandbox, defense and firewall) + disable all G Data services: nothing changed :-(

Reg-RB.exe runs
But when I double click rebuilder.exe. Just nothing happens :-(
Looking in the processes list (task manager), it doesn't show there either

Well, I just tried installing on a notebook, running also windows 7 x64, completely different hardware, eset antivirus disabled, comodo completely disabled
Again, Reg-RB.exe gives me an error: "Component MSWINSCK.OCX or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

The rebuilder.exe won't run, exactly like under my Desktop Setup

Not sure it is related to me

Both have UAC active

When I add all exe files to run as administrator, Reg-RB.exe starts correctly
However, rebuilder.exe still won't run

There are many thousands of installations of DVD Rebuilder -- of those many thousands every single report made with your symptom have been the result of overly zealous antivirus software interfering. Not some, but all. The majority of them (actually there really haven't been very many) was because of Comodo. In other words, I am pretty much 100% positive that is your issue. If you uninstall Comodo it will work.

As for your MSWINSCK.OCX issue -- it is supposed to be included in the O/S, but if your system has somehow had it removed for some reason you can still register it -- as it is included in the DVD Rebuilder folder. See this post. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1123970&highlight=regsvr32#post1123970)

The bottom line is that your issue is with Comodo, not DVD Rebuilder. But, if you don't want to dump Comodo (a bad decision IMHO) and you have obtained DVD Rebuilder Pro within the last week or so, send an e-mail to dvd-rb@jdobbs.net with your PayPal transaction ID and I can issue a refund. Of course that won't help you the when a another piece of software runs into the same issue with Comodo.

I see
Tried to disable UAC, didn't help
What should I do in addition to disabling these antivir programs / firewall? Uninstall completely comodo?

I see
Tried to disable UAC, didn't help
What should I do in addition to disabling these antivir programs / firewall? Remove them. That will prove the point I'm making.

You were right, many thanks
After uninstalling comodo, rebuilder.exe runs perfect
I reinstall comodo firewall, and it stops running
Damn it

I'll report the issue to comodo

Many many thanks for the support

By the way, once, you told about a no system ID limited license version. Any hope you release it?

Best regards

Well,

I fixed it adding rebuilder.exe and all other exe files of dvdrebuilder to the exclusion list of the Defense+ part in comodo
Now, it works fine

I'll know that comodo can strangely make some apps not even start without a warning

Many many thanks
