I have had an issue with decrypting one Bluray disk in my collection. There are three video titles. 2/3 decrypt and encode correctly, one consistantly gives me problems. I have tried playing this file with mplayer, VLC, and various others with no joy. It can't be opened with any transcoder. I have also tried dumping/decrypting the data with AnyHDDVD, DVDFAB, dumpHD, makemkv...the list goes on, all with the same result.
Intrestingly the only thing that will play this file is my PBO media player(thankfully).
The video codec is VC-1 1080i, but they all are.....
Am I missing something?
Anybody else have the same issue?
Thanks in advance

Yes, there are hundreds, possibly even thousands of us having the exact same problem with the exact same Bluray. What's the name of it, BTW?

This one is BBC-Life Disk 4, just the 'Plants' video. I haven't had an issue with any other BD's and I have ripped almost my whole collection. The point is really moot, since PBO plays it, just a question for future reference.

[EDIT] I should add that one program did work for proper decrypting/encoding; aunsoft. But unless you pruchase it it puts a watermark in the middle of the video. But why? when hand brake works so well and its free? :)

I have ripped my "BBC-Life Plants" video too. I didn't have any issues. I used AnyDVD HD, eac3to, DGDecodeNV, avisynth, and command line x264.

Please see the guide in my signature and while cumbersome (see the notes of soon-to-come updates), follow every step and it is guaranteed to work every time.

As a final sort of update, I ran into five more disks (actually right after I started this thread) with VC1 interlaced and decided to go with the payware DVDFAB. Not a lot of encoding options compared to handbrake but it produces a good quality. I like that it ueber simplifies the rip/convert process into one step.
Trial version watermarks transcoded video.
Thanks for the help
I love the open source community, makemkv, dumphd, and handbrake but it is very frustrating that ffmpeg had been lagging for years in their support of this ever popular video codec.
