I am having a problem with this. After using smartripper, I begin to create my dvd2avi. Now, in the guide, it says to run the movie and check to see it it says film or film above 95 percent. JFk starts out as interlaced, goes to progressive, and eventually gets to film 95 if I let it run long enough. The beginning of the movie is the warning screen, in three languages. If I follow the guide, selecting force film and encoding the way I have been, the audio is way out of sync with the movie. The audio starts with the warning screen, then the movie starts later. What can I do about this. Thanks for your help.

First, about why you see interlaced, progressive, etc... before the film. The leaders in front of the movie are often video sources.

Second, about sync issue. You didn't change the name of your ac3 sound file, did you? GKnot uses the delay/advance values in the filename when interleaving sound and video.

I don't know why you're having sync problems. You did use SmartRipper in Movie mode ... right?

This is all just guessing. It could just be a weird dvd.

You could eliminate the leaders entirely. Use the [ button in dvd2avi to set the beginning to the first frame of the film.

I am gonna try and clip out the beginning. Will the program know where to start the sound if I clip it? Do I have to clip it in a certain place? Any help would be great. And I didn;t change the ac3 file.

If you create a project (d2v) file using [ the sound should sync properly with the frame you select.

FBI warning? Are you using SmartRipper in Movie mode or not? Such warnings are usually not part of the main program chain.

Are you leaving your audio as ac3?

Converting it to mp3? If so, what bitrate are you using?

Using "the playa" ?
