I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I could not find an answer when I searched.

I'm running Win XP SP3 and have DVD Shrink 3.2. I want to back-up some of my purchased DVDs and I need to know about Nero. I read reviews on Amazon about Nero 11 and there were a lot of negative reviews. Nero 9 seemed to be OK and is cheaper. Is it OK for me to use Nero 9? That is all I really need to know at this point. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions when I get deeper into the weeds.

Please feel free to share any tips any of you might think will be helpful. This is all new to me.

Thanks

If all you need Nero for is to burn discs (Nero has a variety of other applications), try ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) instead. It's free.

DVD Shrink has a function to automatically burn the discs it shrinks using Nero, but you can use any burning software capable of burning DVD video discs to burn the files DVD Shrink creates.

The Nero chumps changed the commands to call up their engine so Shrink can't do this anymore. You can search for the hacked Shrink version that automatically calls up ImgBurn. Get the md5 to verify authenticity on the official forum (http://www.dvdshrink.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=100327).

You learn something new every day.....
Not that I shrink discs anymore (obviously convert the video instead) but I'm still on Nero 7.

You're still out of luck. The last Nero that worked for auto burn was 6.6 something.

ImgBurn...forget Nero Nero was good up to V5 or V6...since then I am surprised they are still in business.

Another vote for IMGBurn.

The fact that it's free plus it's written by the original author of DVD Decrypter is just a bonus. LIGHTNING_UK! knows how to write great software, and I've never been disappointed.
