View Full Version : MultiAVCHD makes M2TS file audio out of sync

So I have a problem with making a m2ts file into avchd with multiavchd.
If I play the m2ts file with vlc player the audio and video synce up fine. But when I run it through multiavchd the resulting video is like a second or so behind the audio.
I tried playing around with the sync but ive tried from -2200ms up to +2200 ms changes but it doesnt really do much.
The video will ctually start out in sync but the farther in the more out of sync it gets.
The log shows the file has AAC which it turns into PCM then to AC3.
Any ideas what to do?

wrong fps

I was thinking that as well.
I didnt really see any options for framerate on multiavchd. Not sure if Im missing something.
But I went ahead and am doing a transcode of the video and selected 23.976 which is what the video showed when converting it with tsmuxer. But will be a few hours til its done to know if it worked
Is there a setting for framerate or will I have to transcode it if the problem arises in future?

You can change the fps in tsmuxer when you remux the file. I'm not sure about multiAVCHD, I never used it to change the fps ;)

THink I figured it out.
I tried adjusting framerates in tsmuxer but that just made it worse.
I ended up having tsmuxer break the 7gb mkv down into 1gb m2ts files and made them into a avchd.
Then the audio is synced up.
I found that even when I used tsmuxer and broke the video into 2 gb chunks the audio would get slightly out of sync near the end of the each 2gb file. So for some reason I had to make smaller files

After you break the file into 1GB pieces, how do you make them as "ONE" movie in the AVCHD (with multiAVCHD)?

One more question:
I made a few folders with multiAVCHD and played them with a slim (new) PS3 and a Think (old) PS3. Here is the result:
On New (Slim) PS3:
- Welcome page well played, sound and image
- XML title menu pages well played, sound and image
- when clicking on any one title, no response, sometimes, only audio, no video
- going into the /BDMV/STREAM/ folder and clicking on any 000XX.MTS individual files, both audio and video play well
On Old (Thin) PS3:
- Welcome page well played, sound and image
- XML title menu pages well played, sound and image
- when clicking on any one title, both audio and video play well, for very few titles only audio, no video
- going into the /BDMV/STREAM/ folder and clicking on any 000XX.MTS individual files, both audio and video play well
This never happened when using mkv2vob for from same .mkv files.
Any idea and suggestions?
Thanks.

You just add all the split files and make sure they are in order and run it like normal.
Same

Check the video size.
I just had a video that was 1920 X 800 and it would give me black screen and just play the audio through my playstation 3 when I made a avchd and burned to disc.
When you add the video files into multiavchd it will tell you what they and it will tell you the size is off.
If this is the case you can select the file and click transcode and then change it to 1920 x 1080 and then run it and it transcodes it then makes the avchd.

How did you manage to combine multiple files (many 1GB files as you mentioned) into one title in multiAVCHD? When multiAVCHD failed my previous AVCHD.OLD into new, every title is multiple .mts, I don't know how to put them together into the new AVCHD using multiAVCHD. If you use txmuxer or multiAVCHD to "join" them into one before add the file into multiAVCHD as a single title, will the re-joining restore your audio-video synchronization problem?
Thanks.

I tried a few times and it doesn't work. For example, a movie was split into 4 parts. M.1.mkv, M.2.mkv, M.3.mkv and M.4.mkv; When add all 4 files from "Add Video Files", it made 4 separated titles instead of one movie title.
Thanks if you can describe a little more detail.

Have you tried using tsMuxeR? Add the first title, then use the "join" option to add any additional titles.

So, split into small files, then "join" them into one, then use multiAVCHD to make it as a movie "title", right?
Will this keep your audio-video synchronize issue? (Sorry, that's bob77's issue)

Yes.
Async will only be determined after you try and test! ;)

I see you're a senior expert in the forum. Can you suggest my other question: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=164068
Thanks again.

Not really, but thanks for the nice compliment. :p
I have not used multiAVCHD this way before. I usually add titles through the "Add Video files" tab. You can still add many file formats this way. Then, depending on if you want motion or still menus, and your menu style... XMB, Slide or Carousel, or title-list you can select your preference. I usually use XMB or unselect "Create top menu" and just select "Add title-list menu"
If you use the still menu option, I think you should be able to set the "Poster" option to have your choice of a still picture from a scene from that title for a menu title picture.
I am not sure if this is what you are referring to though! :(
