View Full Version : Does anyone want to convert an IDX subtitle to SRT?

Hello everyone, happy new year.

I have tried to rip DVD subtitles with SubRip, but Subrip doesn't recognise one letter at all, it keeps coming up with bad best guesses. I normally use Character Matrix Files from the Internet because my screenreader - I'm blind - cannot tell me which letter SubRip doesn't recognise. Is there anyone who could try and convert the subtiltes to SRT for me? I can e-mail you the idx and sub file.

Kind regards

Vincent

You can attach the subtitles here or send me a private message with the download link.

I cannot upload the file, it's too big. I didn't know that a 1,97MB file could be too large... Do you by any chance have a personal e-mail address or do the file size limits change when I PM you?

You can upload the subtitles to a file hoster such as mediafire or megaupload and post the link here in this thread or send it to me as a pm.
I don't want to put my email address in the public.

I really appreciate your help! Can I give you my e-mail address to e-mail the SRT file to me if it works? My screenreader has troubles with MediaFire as well...

I have no idea but here is a link to megaupload and mediafire with it.
I hope I'm not breaking any rules.

Subrip is outdated. Best OCR recognition so far is with Tappen's Subtitle Extractor (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=162633).

For me, the best one is Subtitle Edit http://www.nikse.dk/ which is still developed and it uses tesseract OCR engine.
I created the above .srt with it.
