Hi,

i just started creating a project file for the following disc's vobs:

Universal's
The Fast and the Furious
NTSC

while having the Video:Field Operation set to None, i get a framerate of 29.97, but when i set Video:Field Operation to Forced Film (as Video Type is FILM), i get a framerate of 23.976...
what's this about? i've set up dvd2avi just like the dvd2avi-guide told me...

p.s. (some minutes later): i just saved the d2v file, and saw that (while Forced Film was still selected) the video type was suddenly NTSC 1%... i don't get it - what's this about?

Here we go again:

FILM (on cinema) is always 24 fps. In order to show this on NTSC TV it is first slowed down to 23.976fps. Then it is Telecined, i.e. having frames added to create the 29.97fps needed for NTSC.

When loading vobs in DVD2AVI, first uncheck Force Film. Then press F5 and look at the statistics after a while, preferrably whole clip. If it says FILM 95% or more then check Force Film. If it says FILM, but at a lower percentage then you should use another form of IVTC, such as TMPEG for vfapi method or Decomb for AVISynth. If it still says NTSC Interlaced the you should not check force film or IVTC, but you should apply some form of true deinterlacing such as BOB or SmartDeinterlace.

got the problem...

the movie itself is >99% FILM, it's just the very end that is NTSC - i just left it out.
Those very last frames encoded in NTSC are the ones after the screen that shows the rating of the film (PG-13). Nothing of any interest, i guess...

thanks nonetheless :)
