Hi,

I have ripped a DVD source to HDD, and try to convert it to XVid with AutoMKV, I have tried to convert Audio to MP3 or AC3, but no matter which one I use, I get the sollowing status bar message:

"Encoding Audio with Aften - first normalizing volume... wait", and nothing else happens. Here is a log:

How long did you wait?

How long did you wait?

Really long, went to bed and the computer was still on, 12hours at least!

I guess this is a common problem, since I found many people describing that problem in various forums, but no solution so far :( Please, can anybody imagine what is going so terribly wrong here?

can you disable audio normalization in automkv?

That was one of my first thoughts too, but I cannot find an option to do so. I don't even know which tool AutoMKV uses for this purpose :( The logging seems crappy, too, because you cannot really see what's going wrong.

I think this is a conceptual problem with tools like AutoMKV: if everything works, all is fine, but if only one of dozens of components changes, it is very difficult to find the error.

[Edit] Using Process Explorer, I already found out that VirtualDubMod is actually hanging, which is obviously also used when another tool like FFMpeg is selected for demuxing :(

I already tried reinstalling AutoMKV, but I believe this is an issue related with this specific DVD-image I try to convert.

It would be great if an AutoMKV developer could have a look at this.

In the meantime, do you have any alternatives? I was thinking about Staxrip, but for some strange reason, they only support Blueray structures, not DVD structures :(

So I need a good tool to create a mlutilanguage, multisubtitle XVid or MKV from a VIDEO_TS folder.

It's a problem on win 7 64 bit. Replacing all of the bass dlls in the BeSweet folder with the same bass dlls from BeHappy will solve the issue. But keep in mind that x264 in the last automkv is not up to date with newer mbtree and some other options.

BeHappy can be found here: http://behappy.codeplex.com/

BeHappy - also a good app :)
