Are you sure you burned the bin/cue files to the CD-R and not the mpg files ? You will only get chapters from the bin/cue files ..

if you are waiting for a menu with chapters... forget it. You will need to author the svcd image with TSCV. The chapter selection done by dvd2svcd will enable only the numerical buttons and the "skip" keys ( |<< and >>| )

Are you sure your player supports chapters? If unsure, go to VCDHelp and check out the DVD Compatibility list.

Have the same situation...
The chapters are ripped ok, but some players show them as one chapter!
WinDVD 3.1 par Example shows only one chapter and can only jump to this one.
When I playback the SVCD in a standalone DVD-Player (from Grundig) it shows that one Chapter is present bur if you press the "jump to next chapter" button it works.
(have checked VCDXbuild and DVD-chapters "PBC Use selections")

Hi TKSoft2000,
WinDVD is a little picky when it comes to chapters, and PowerDVD sometimes is showing a picture of the first chapter when skipping through the chapters.
A close friend has a Grundig GDV-130 and he never had any troubles when using chapters (he uses the same settings as you do) so just be sure the chapters are working on your standalone and don't bother with WinDVD ;).

You can't get chapters with just reading the Mpeg files off the HD.
You need to burn the .bin/.cue files. These add the chapter information into the TOC of the CD. They do not exhist in the Mpeg file itself.
If you wish to create chapter and all you have is the mpeg files read the guide on doom9 about TSCV and then burn the files that this produces.
