Can someone please tell me what the abbreviations ODS, PTS, and ICS mean in relation to Blu-ray authoring? (specifically, Scenarist)
I've never been able to figure out the exact meaning of the warning "There is at least one ODS which have a PTS greater than the PTS of ICS." :scared:
I know PTS is the time it waits before displaying a menu (to allow for loading time), but I don't know what it is an abbreviation of and I have no idea what the others mean.
Thanks in advance!

A BD menu graphic stream is composed by several segments, there are:
ICS - Interactive Composition Segment, PDS - Palette Definition Segment, ODS - Object Definition Segment, and END - End of Display Set Segment.
ICS an interactive display composition of graphics (e.g multi page menu)
ODS is the run-length encoded graphic object (bitmap).
PTS presentation time stamp

Never seen this error myself until the last project I was trying to complete... No idea what it means either... :)
The only info I could get out of Sonic was:
That this is a warning about timing. It shouldn't have an impact on your output.
The disc worked fine with no issues in every player tested, so we just went with it... I built the disc the same way I've built every blu-ray like it, never had the error before, never had a problem before. (The difference here being a new version of the software/mux engine.) What version of Scenarist are you using?
This error comes from the Mux engine itself, so it's probably something only Sony understands (they write the mux engine, not Sonic). So far, all seems fine, so it's probably okay to ignore (it is just a warning). The disc passed verifier testing with no problems.
It's possible the message will go away in a newer version of Scenarist (5.7 when it's released, I'm not sure what version people are using now as I can't find an official Sonic download link... make sure it comes directly from them if you have it), it might be something that's being reported incorrectly, or shouldn't be getting displayed at all...

From 5.7 Release notes...
Resolved Issues
Scenarist BD 5.7 includes the following resolved issues:
...
[SBD-614] It is now possible to encode and multiplex IGs in which the PTS of ODS is greater than the PTS of ICS.

Heh, it's funny that they actually put that in the release notes... Apparently we aren't the only ones that noticed it...

Since we're talking about translations, what does CPS stand for?

My original topic:
I was never really worried about the warning message, and have created many successful discs so far with scenarist politely reminding me of my alphabet soup every time. Thanks for the definitions, though, Bigotti!
Eric:
CPS is the copy protection settings. (Content protection system?)
