THX1138 Blu-ray Japanese subpics

The "Director's Cut" version of "THX1138" Blu-ray contains 11 subpic streams, including 2 Japanese subpic streams.

When the disc is played, via either standalone player or PowerDVD, the two Japanese streams neither appear in the menus, nor are they accessible via remote control or onscreen options.

I have confirmed, via tsMuxer and BDSup2Sub, that the 2 Japanese streams actually do exist - one is 10Mb and the other is 28Mb.

Does anyone know how to make these 2 subpic streams available while viewing?

If the disc is produced by Warner this has worked for me on other titles (Se7en, Matrix):

Select "Japanese" as you default audio/subtitle/menu language on your Blu-ray player, additionally your region should be set on "A".

But now you will miss all the other subtitle tracks!

If you are creating a backup on BD-R, BDEdit will allow you to easy add the missing tracks onto the "International" playlist if you know their PID.

Yeah, it seems the Japanese prefer to have discs that only have Eng and Jpn subtitle available to them, so when put in a player that's set to Japanese, these options (and only these options) will become available...

Not every studio does this, but Warner does for sure. I think you only need to set the Menu language to Japan (and you will frequently get a Japanese only menu too, so keep that in mind).
