That should be pretty easy.
Concentrate the files, open the resulting .ts in TsRemux v.0.0.21.2 and convert it to m2ts

Stream Type: Transport [188]
Profile: High
Level: 4
Frame Size: 1440x1080
SAR: 4:3
Display Size: 1920x1080
Frame Rate: 25.000000 fps
Colorimetry: BT.709 [1]
Frame Structure: MBAFF

Then Metafox to get resulting .mkv, job done (should be)

But the ***** BBC One HD which is transmitted in some odd way.

Resulting .m2ts plays OK in MPC-HC (I can not get it playing on WMP12 on Win7), but has way too many jerks

Converted with Metafox (or demuxed & done by hand with mkvmerge) plays ~12.5 fps

Losing my will to deal with the recordings...

A|nybody has any idea?

Thanks

upload problematic .trp to www.mediafire.com. 50 mb should be ok.

Thay are 1.46 GB per chunk or 4+ Gb joined, what would the acceptable way to cut it (so it makes sense)

Thanks, here (http://www.sendspace.com/file/yxdp8p) is 50Mb of the original .trp
Plays fine on MPC-HC with CoreAVC, when converted to m2ts with tsmuxer also plays fine. But when converted to mkv with Metafox the speed "dies"

1) demux .trp with eac3to
2) combine video.mkv with audio.ac3 in mmg.exe (gui for mkvmerge)

And how does demux with eac3to differes to demux with anything else?

One could expect the resulting split streams being always identical (no matter what demux is used) - anyway, that is not the case!

Still, demux with eac3to & merge to mkv DID NOT do anything different then I tried previously

Resulting mkv plays with jiggers, plays at ~ 12 - 20 fps, and video still goes way beyond audio is finished

And no, it is not computer problem (i5) as any other mkv plays fine on it (even ones created same way from different channels captures)

Thanks for the advice

i demuxed your file in eac3to and then muxed video and audio into new mkv and it plays fine in mpc-hc.

Sure, at 50 Mb you will never notice. @ 3.8Gb you would notice the same problems

what i noticed is 50 mb sample plays smoothly at 50 fps . i haven't noticed any drops in frame rate.

Did you force it to 50 fps in mkvmerge?

Why would that be needed? Because source is 1080i?

dxva automatically deinterlaces 50i to 50p. i didn't force anything.

So you just made it with 25fps?

Definitely does NOT work with the full size re-conversion

Will have to re-encode it to have usable mkv

which player do you use for mkv?

Does not matter, MPC-HC, WMP12, VLC on PC or Mac

Same result

Edit
In the end I put the joined .trp through Handbrake on Mac with CQ 21.5 & ended with perfectly playing 720p mkv
