Hey everyone for all of you out there still thinking about purchasing a DVR-A03, here is some price statistics I put together, obviously these could vary from person to person and not to mention amount of coasters and things like that but here is my current status: (All in USD) - I also like cases and print covers....
Pioneer DVR-A03 $425.49 - Came with six blank DVD-Rs
DVD Cases(Sleeves.com) $ 23.40 - 30 Cases
DVD-R Blanks (Meritline.com) $ 78.55 - 25 Blanks
-------------------
Total Spent so far $527.44
Coasters 4 - I recommend a DVD-RW to avoid
Movies Created so Far 7 - Just getting strated I know
Avg. Cost Per Movie $75.35 at a weak 60% success rate
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that I've implemented my DVD-RW coasters should be gone so heres what some of my future totals should average.
27 Movies (Max before Spent w/o more money) - $19.53 per Movie
81 Movies (2 DVD-R order, 2 Case orders at Same Price) - $9.03/Movie
131 Movies (All orders at same price still) - $7.14/Movie
456 Movies (By this point I hope blanks Drop) - $4.63/Movie
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Moral of the story, right now to really beat the system the DVD-R still has sometime especially if you consider the amount of work you put into it, this also assumes that you can get the movies and copy them for free i.e. no rentals!, hopefully prices will drop and I can get ahead of the system a little quicker. Also I'm sure not everyone will purchase Cases for there covers but it preserves the CD much, much better. But all this Copying is really a great hobby, so I think the best way to some up the excess cost and amount of time I've put into movies, and everything else can be summed up by a Mastercard commercial.....
Showing copies to your friends and a neverending hobby: Priceless :)
